School Children of Project Manuelito

New Opportunity!

We are so excited to share a new opportunity to be able to sponsor the school children of Project Manuelito!

One of Project Manuelito’s ministries is the school located on the grounds of Project Manuelito in Talanga, Honduras.

Project Manuelito makes the dream of school a reality for the impoverished children of Talanga, Honduras! In 2011, this school started with little resources but a big desire to serve. The school provides a Kindergarten through 9th grade education to approximately 150 of the poorest children in their community. Without this school, most of these children would not be able to attend any school, as their families wouldn’t be able to afford the uniform and school supplies needed for public education.

Project Manuelito funds the entire cost of the education, including uniforms and school supplies, making education completely free for these impoverished children. Statistics show that impoverished children and young people often end up living on the streets if they have little access to educational opportunities. The school of Project Manuelito is a solution to helping end children living on the streets. Their hope is that one day, these children can be rescued and transformed from impoverished children to empowered adults!

Because of such poverty, many of the families of the school children have difficulty putting even one meal on the table daily. Project Manuelito provides snacks and a hot lunch meal to each of the children in attendance to help fill the void of daily hunger.

Since its inception in 2011, there have been many successes in the school. There are many young people who have graduated from this school and have moved on to a high school education and graduating with a college degree. Three women who previously lived and went to school at Project Manuelito ended up graduating with their teaching degrees and are now teachers at the school!

Join us by sponsoring the school children of Project Manuelito! With your support, you will be helping to provide an education, school supplies, uniforms, snacks and daily lunch, and medical attention.

Since it was founded by Pastor Jorge Pinto in 1999, the Manuelito Project
has directly or indirectly helped more than 2,000 children.

The Manuelito Project provides a home, food, clothing, education and lots of love to roughly 35 former homeless children, many who chose the streets to escape a life of abuse. The campus is located in Talanga, Honduras. An on-site school also provides free education and meals to impoverished children from Talanga. At the Manuelito Project, there are teachers and house parents for the children who live there serving around the clock while managing to raise a family of their own. Their ability to stay in Honduras and serve depends upon donors from the Journey North (Impact’s founder) and other churches across America.
